💛 A Hidden Treasure in Glynn Place Mall 💛

Sometimes the best treasures are right in our own community—and The Encore Company is one of those hidden treasures!

Located inside Glynn Place Mall, The Encore Company brings live theatre and performing arts to the Golden Isles, creating opportunities for local performers and giving our community the chance to experience something special close to home. 🎭

Freda’s Treasures was invited to the Encore Performing Arts Center by one of the leading members of the Pound Cake Gang, Josh Hinson. Josh and I have always supported one another, so I was excited to come out and support him in one of his passions—performing arts!

I had the opportunity to see The Encore Company’s production of "Come From Away," a Tony Award-winning musical based on the true story of 7,000 airline passengers who were stranded in Gander, Newfoundland, after 9/11. The story is a beautiful reminder of kindness, compassion, and what can happen when people come together.

💛 Learning, Connecting & Growing 💛

Freda’s Treasures had an amazing time at the Atlanta BeltLine Funding Fair!

A special thank you to the Atlanta BeltLine for creating a space where small-business owners could connect, learn, and discover valuable resources.

Thank you, Kelvin Collins, Vice President of Economic Development at Atlanta BeltLine, Inc., for sharing your insights and helping make this event such a valuable experience.

And a special thank you to Killer Mike, Grammy-winning rapper, entrepreneur, and BeltLine business owner, for sharing your experiences and encouraging local business owners.

We enjoyed the food samples from Killer Mike’s restaurant, Bankhead Seafood, the interactive game, connecting with fellow business owners, and learning about valuable resources for growing our businesses.

And to top it all off, we even caught a quick clip of Freda’s Treasures on CBS News! 📺🙌🏾

✨ Sometimes it’s nice to be on the other side of the table! ✨

Freda’s Treasures is usually out in the community as a vendor, but this time, we had the opportunity to simply enjoy the Multicultural Festival on Norwich Street, hosted by Discover Norwich, as a participant — and what a wonderful experience it was! 🎉

We had such a great time soaking in the sunshine, enjoying delicious treats, supporting fellow local vendors, and celebrating the incredible diversity and creativity within our community. From Nevad Never to icy treats at Jersey’s Finest Icy’s 🍧 to the delicious delights from Los Raspa Locos , there was so much to enjoy!

Most importantly, it was a beautiful reminder that being part of a small-business community means more than selling products. It means showing up for one another, making connections, celebrating each other’s talents, and growing together. 🤝🏾❤️

We’re grateful to our local peers, event organizers, and everyone who continues to create spaces where our community can come together.

This time, Freda’s Treasures got to sit back, enjoy a treat, cheer on our fellow vendors, and simply be a part of the celebration. And honestly… we loved every minute of it! 🥰

Freda’s Treasures is excited to be back downtown for First Friday! Come find me near Old City Hall and stop by to shop, grab a treat, and say hello. 🍰✨

I’m so grateful for the continued love and support my community shows Freda’s Treasures. Every visit, purchase, conversation, and encouraging word means more than you know.

A special thank you to this wonderful family who continues to support me and my business. Having people who believe in what I’m building and continue to show up means so much to me.

💛 Freda at the 2026 Taste of Gullah 💛

Freda enjoyed her day at the Historic Harrington School’s “Taste of Gullah” celebration.

From the music to the smiles, it was a beautiful way to spend Juneteenth. More than just a cultural celebration and food tasting, Taste of Gullah is a fundraising and preservation event where ticket sales directly support the Historic Harrington School through the St. Simons African American Heritage Coalition. These efforts help preserve the school’s history while keeping Gullah-Geechee culture alive for future generations.

The event was filled with community, culture, and fellowship, creating a space where history and tradition could be celebrated together.

Freda’s Treasures was honored to be part of such a meaningful day, sharing good old-fashioned pound cake among many talented vendors and contributors, adding a little sweetness to the celebration. 🍰✨

💛 Taste of Gullah 💛

Freda enjoyed her day at the Historic Harrington School’s Taste of Gullah celebration.
