BIG OOPS!

Last week, to my chagrin, I failed to acknowledge a business that’s very close to my heart. Sugar Creek Marina celebrated 31 years in business under the successful ownership and management of the Clark family.

Sugar Creek Marina and, specifically, William Clark have spent years being the heart and backbone of the Sugar Creek community and a great asset to Lake Oconee. With William at the helm the marina surpassed just being a business many years ago. The community, patrons (local residents/weekend visitors/vacationers), fishermen, tournament directors and countless others have discovered that Sugar Creek Marina not only provides a fully stocked marina/clothing/grocery/bait & tackle store, a delicious deli, safe and efficient boat storage and an exemplary boat maintenance & repair service department … they also provide fair and honest treatment, simply put, just plain old good customer service, something that is missing more and more these days. Some of us are blessed, too, that we found lifelong friendships there.

The marina store will be open normal hours Easter Sunday. The deli will also be open serving Breakfast and Lunch until 2:00PM. Our Anniversary Sale discounts will end Sunday at closing.

We are a little less than 2 weeks away from our first tournament and one week away from the late fee deadline to kick off our 24th season of Fishers of Men Georgia South. Our first tournament is the Ocean Waves Sunglasses, LLC. Lake Oconee tournament on January 28, 2023. Our optional Friday night meeting is on January 27, 2023 at Buckhead Baptist Church. $25.00 late fee deadline is January 22 at 11:59pm. Friday night meeting registration starts at 5:30pm, Dinner at 6:00pm and Speaker at 6:45pm. You have to be at the meeting by the time the speaker starts to be eligible for meeting bonus for 1-4 place. This is free money for 1-4 added to the payout. You have to be at the meeting to be eligible for 50 AOY points. We will be launching from Sugar Creek Marina Safelight - 3pm.

If you pay for the full season you will be rewarded with free raffle tickets for the 2023 Fall Raffle.

Hiring for clerk/cashier in the marina store. Morning Shift available. Flexibility to work morning shift or afternoon shift would be preferred. Will consider full time or part-time availablity. Must be available to work weekends and weekdays.
