Colder weather means the backyard buffet is about to get busier! As temperatures drop, you’re likely to see more activity at your feeders as birds fuel up for chilly days and even colder nights.

After all the rain we’ve had, take a peek inside your feeders. Remove any wet or clumped seed, clean the feeders, and let them dry before refilling with fresh food. And don’t forget to put out fresh suet! Those high-fat foods give birds valuable energy to help keep warm.

Have your bluebirds been missing in action? You may start seeing those familiar blue feathers back at your feeders as the weather cools.

Keep your eyes peeled for the these awesome little darlings of the forest...Brown Creepers!

One of our FAVORITE migrants, 💕 these little cuties spend their winters with us, but they can be a little tricky to spot because of their incredible camouflage!

Creepers search for insects by starting at the base of a tree and climbing, sometimes spiraling, UP the trunk. They fly to the base of the next tree and start up again.

Did you know, the Brown Creeper was the inspiration for the development of our famous WBU Bark Butter?!?!

You guessed it...Creepers LOVE Bark Butter! You can turn any tree into a perfect feeder and make a sweet little Brown Creeper's day during the colder months ahead! ❤️

In the Northern Hemisphere, the First Day of Autumn is Tuesday, September 22. That's when the length of day and night are almost the same. Be sure your feeders are ready for some hungry birds that are either preparing or recharging for the longer nights.
