With a heavy heart, I want to share that this Saturday will be our final day open. We’ll be closing the doors of the shop, while opening a new door into the next chapter of life. To everyone who has supported me over the past few years — thank you. It has been an incredible experience running a custom bait shop here in our small town. Being able to provide gear you couldn’t find anywhere else in Colorado has been something I’m truly proud of. But when push comes to shove, sometimes you have to move forward. If you’d like to stop in just to say goodbye, we’ll be open until 6pm this Saturday. Thank you again — this has been an unforgettable adventure.

The best way to measure how old a fish is is by counting the number of rings formed on a chunk of calcium living in its inner ear.

This lake trout, named Mary Catherine, had 62 rings.

It's the oldest lake trout ever found in the Great Lakes.

🎣 🌡️ Check the Water Temperature!
With hot weather pushing water temperatures up, we all need to think about fish welfare — especially for sensitive species like pike.
🌡️ Take a quick temp check before you fish. If the water’s at or above 21°C, please avoid targeting pike.
✅ Use a simple thermometer ✅ Measure at mid-depth in slower water
