Hey babes. I've been a bit quiet lately but can we chat a bit? Can we allow ourselves to get a bit vulnerable?
🌲
I grew up in a time where talking about mental health was taboo. As a child and teen we were told to surround ourselves with those that radiate happiness and are always smiling. It took me about 25 years to understand how absurd and toxic that mentality is. Our ability to have emotions and make decisions for ourselves is the most beautiful thing about being human so why have a lot of us been told to just ignore it? To find a box, take anything that does not resemble profound happiness, crumble it up and stuff it in that box with a lock and chain. Growing up, I was told to surround myself with those that radiated nothing less than happiness. What about those of us that did not "radiate happiness"? What happened to us that experienced trauma and just needed support? Just... think about it.

Please know that you are never alone and you never have to be alone. If someone ever makes you feel less than worthy then they are not worthy of your time. You are a freaking badass. You wake up and continue fighting for yourself. You are a warrior and never, ever forget that! This is a safe place for you. As a survivor, I stand with you and for you.

Babes, I challenge you this - compliment a stranger, cheer on a small business, reach out to the person you haven't heard from in awhile and ask if they're ok. Together we can change the narrative and let others know how worthy they are and how much they matter. Life can be sh*t but we don't have to be.

I will donate 10% of the proceeds I make from Makers and Shakers to the . I will continue to advocate and fight for mental health as none of us should ever feel ashamed if we are not ok. Your feelings are valid, always. Never let someone try to take that away from you. You are unstoppable and capable of amazing things, remind yourself of that - no matter what.
❤️ much love - K
