After a sleepy summer, we're starting to see publishing's tone shift as the season of cookbooks approaches. Fall is the season where we see the tidal waves of new titles so it was time to refresh the wall of cookbooks!

Remember, we are still OPEN as we build our new flagship location in Williamsville!

All of our titles are updated on our website each week as well so you can shop online and choose in-store pickup or we ship anywhere in the United States.

600 COOKBOOKS. 🤯📚

When we offered signed pre-orders for Weeknight Winners, Family Dinners from Buffalo’s own Jack, Emmy & Levi Zhang of Cooking for Levi, we knew our community would be excited… but watching 500 copies get delivered was pretty special.

Now, come celebrate with us. ❤️

Join us Saturday, August 29th at 1:00 PM for an afternoon with this local Buffalo family and first-time authors as we celebrate their brand-new cookbook, WEEKNIGHT WINNERS, FAMILY DINNERS.

The cookbook is packed with 80 recipes designed to bring the whole family to the table. Most recipes are ready in 30 minutes or less, and the book includes ten ways to get kids excited about food while building connection and language along the way.

At the event:
🍴 Watch the family demonstrate a dish from the cookbook
🥄 Sample TWO dishes from the book, catered by our friends at bloomandrose
📚 Purchase a copy at a special event price
✍️ Have your cookbook signed by the whole family — including Levi!
🎟️ Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children under 16.

Join us Saturday, September 5th at 1pm at Jack Rabbit for a Nacho Party! We're celebrating Alex P. Taylor, the Nacho King of Connecticut and his debut cookbook, Totally Nachrageous: 70+ Next-Level Nacho Recipes for Parties, Game Days & Crowd-Pleasing Fun. 

Ticket includes Hot Honey Buffalo Cauliflower Nachos and Caitlin’s Double Cheeseburger Nachos, two delicious recipes from the cookbook! There will also be a cash bar available as well.

Happy Book Lovers Day!

My first love has always been . I'm actually a retired booktuber. I was pretty active for three years and once the store opened I couldn't keep up consistently producing content, running the store, and having my corporate job. I love balancing my reading between food writing and some food fiction (mysteries and fiction being my favorite). Here's a few from the past year or so that I've thoroughly enjoyed, a bunch we've even read in book club!

Drop a note below - recommend a food memoir to me and let's see if I've read it (or it's on the shelves of the 1000+ food history and food writing titles I own)

🏆 Best of WNY 2026: Best Lecture Series

This spring, we welcomed cookbook authors, chefs, home cooks and curious eaters around the table for another season of Talk x Taste.

From the party-ready recipes of Party Tricks with Anna Hezel, to live-fire cooking from Grill Time with Noah Galuten, the vibrant flavors of The Lao Kitchen with Saeng Douangdara, the stories and traditions behind The Caribbean Cookbook with Rawlston Williams, and the everyday magic of Hello, Home Cooking with Ham El-Waylly, each event reminded us why we believe food and books are better when shared.

At Read It & Eat, our mission has always been to connect readers with the authors, recipes, stories, and communities behind every page.

We’re incredibly honored that Buffalo Spree named Talk x Taste the Best Lecture Series in Western New York, and even more grateful to the authors, chefs, partners, and guests who made this season possible.
