The Sweet Elephant

09/24/2026

Hello friends!

Due to staffing, we will not be open Thursday, September 24 or Friday, September 25. We will reopen Saturday and have new varieties of Dirty Soda kits available!!

Buffalo, apparently we’ve been keeping a secret, and not on purpose.

The Sweet Elephant is a locally owned candy and chocolate shop right here in downtown Buffalo. Inside, you’ll find handcrafted chocolates, nostalgic candy, sweet gifts, seasonal treats and plenty of things you didn’t know you needed until you walked through the door.

If you’ve never visited us, this is your official invitation. If you already love us, tag someone who still has no idea we’re here.

Apologies for the late post, we are closed today due to short staffing. We will be open regular hours tomorrow 10-4!

SO excited that 1st Avenue opened back up! We appreciate everyone who has supported small businesses during construction. Even if you can’t make it in, liking, sharing, and commenting on our social media posts and even tagging us in posts in your local, community groups helps us to be seen and increases our foot traffic with more incredible customers 🥰

It’s hard to get downtown right now. We are still here!! Open 10-4 Friday and Saturday, 10-2 on Sundays.

Downtown Buffalo may look a little different right now ☔🚧
…but we’re still here making chocolates, candy, and sweet treats every day at The Sweet Elephant 🍫

Construction has definitely made things quieter downtown lately, and every single person who still makes the trip in means more than you know to small businesses like ours.

If you’ve been meaning to stop in, this is your reminder that we’re open — and we’d truly love to see you ❤️

Thank you for continuing to shop small, support local, and stick with downtown Buffalo businesses through the mess and mud. Better days (and smoother roads 😅) are ahead.

Stop by to see us today from 10-4 and tomorrow from 10-2. Our friends, Hutch & Home, Rick’s Collectibles, and Manhattan Transfer are also open today!

Strawberries are making their way to Buffalo if you’re out and about this afternoon! We have our signature Strawberry Shortcake Dipped Berry with either a milk, dark, or milk/white berry to accompany it and a milk and dark chocolate caramel 🍫🍓

LAST CALL for Mother’s Day chocolate strawberries & dipped treats 🍓🍫

We only have a small number of custom order spots left before Mother’s Day weekend, and once they’re full, that’s it 👀

Chocolate covered strawberries, dipped treats, berry bouquets, custom boxes, and more are still available — but we are getting very close to cutoff.

We will have strawberries available Saturday morning if you want to stop in and grab those. Deliveries for custom orders will be Saturday and Sunday morning!

Send us a message ASAP to claim one of the remaining spots 🤍

Buffalo’s downtown is getting a makeover… which unfortunately means construction season has arrived 😅

Due to the ongoing downtown roadwork and construction impacts, The Sweet Elephant will have adjusted hours temporarily.

Projected New Hours:
Friday: 10-4pm
Saturday: 10-4pm
Sunday: 10-2pm

These hours may change, and I’ll reflect that in our social media pages and on Google.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and support while downtown businesses work through the mess now for a better downtown later 🐘🍫

05/01/2026

We are open 10-4 today and tomorrow this week. Stop in tomorrow and get 10% off (tomorrow only) when you place your Mother’s Day order!

🚧✨ CONSTRUCTION HAS BEGUN! ✨🚧

It’s officially happening—our downtown and Hwy 25 projects are underway! 🎉

We’ll do our best to keep you updated on what’s going on, but the most up-to-date info will always be here 👉 https://www.ci.buffalo.mn.us/736/City-Projects

(You can even sign up for email updates so you never miss a thing!)

While things may look a little different for a bit, the BEST way to support our community right now is simple: 💛
👉 Keep showing love to our local businesses affected by construction.

They’re open, they’re amazing, and they need us now more than ever. Let’s keep them thriving so we can all enjoy an even more vibrant Buffalo when it’s all finished! 💪✨
