I completed some work today on a Rare/odd pancake powered chassis for fellow group member Bill Panzarino on two Gearplates for his old Super-O (gauge) cars, for those who are clueless, they are larger scale like Lionel Trains were, Aurora only made then for a short time in the mid 1960's. Anyway Bill, here they are with the new MMInc gears with cluster shaft and the pair of OS3 Typhoon 5.5ohm arms, these puppies should really scoot now. They'll be sent out to you tomorrow,
PS- a normal Aurora T-Jet gearplate and arm below the O-gauge for comparison.

Another Update on my new Dash Blizz/FX chassis and some details on the comparo with the TFX chassis. First off, they were both run with the exact same body (the Red JL '71 Vette bod), but Not run at the same time (duh) -but were run on the same routed track in the same lane with the same driver(me), the lap times were recorded and compared, and later both (Chassis-only) were run together on a 21' dragstrip with a single(both lane) power on control. The TFX chassis(shown & used)) is one of my faster TFX chassis and is stock except for having Black Dragon poly mags installed. The Blizz/FX is stock(?) as I *received it with a *16 ohm arm, I oiled it and tuned the one shoe to run flat the other was already perfect.
The results are/were amazingly close, but the Dash got better and faster after break-in, the Dash is slightly faster and handles slightly better- and some of the handling credit (IMHO) comes from better stock rear tires on the Blizz/FX. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. PS- in the near future I'm thinking of buying another Blizz/FX if I can get a similar one to compare both together with, but as-is I think it's an awesome Pancake type chassis :)

Update on my new Dash Blizz/FX chassis. It's fully broken in now and everything is tuned and it screams! And is now faster than (or equal to) my 16ohm TFX chassis with either OS3 white or black dragons installed and handling *seems better than my TFX with stock TFX tires. (FYI- your mileage may vary, I'm just reporting on my one and ONLY Blizz/FX chassis with a 16ohm arm in it.)

WooHoo ! >>I finally got a (for me) forbidden fruit, a nice internet friend sold me a *New Dash Blizz/FX chassis and received it in the mail today. So, I have been breaking it in and testing it and I love it. I mean Really LOVE it, and so far- I'm liking this design so much more than the OS3-TFX chassis, although in stock condition it doesn't handle *quite(about 98%) as well as an out of the box TFX and isn't as fast(but damn close), but granted it's still breaking in, and my two dozen TFX chassis aren't all created equal either.
Here's some Blizz/FX traits I prefer over the TFX; I like the wheel sizes better, I like the guide pin style better, I like that I can swap the gearplate with a standard T-Jet gearplate if I want and like that I can use standard T-Jet style brass gears or Dash plastic ones in the 12T cluster ratio too, and that's what I've discovered so far. But I haven't experimented and seen if you can slam a body down as low as a TFX or not? Anyway- I wish someone reading this would convey this post over to Dan Cashmer himself, as I wasn't bashing the chassis at all (and PS- I love his Gen 3 T-Dash Blizzard just as much too). I totally recommend the Blizz/FX chassis and oh yeah, don't forget that AFX bodies will fit it too with the Dash body clips.
