As we head into the long weekend, we're taking a moment to appreciate the hard work and dedication that keeps our industry moving forward. From storytellers and creatives to technicians and engineers, so many people contribute to the work we see every day.

Labor Day reminds us that meaningful progress comes from people working together. It's shaped by those who share their skills, push for better ways of working, and continue building toward what's next. At Key Code Media, we're grateful to support the people doing that work across media, broadcast, and technology.

With that, Key Code Media will be closed on Monday, September 7 and reopen on Tuesday, September 8.

Here’s to a well deserved break and a great Labor Day weekend!

🚨 A major bin locking change is coming with Avid Media Composer 2026.8.

If your facility uses Media Composer with third-party shared storage, this is an update you'll want to understand before upgrading.

Watch our breakdown: https://na2.hubs.ly/H07spPs0

With 2026.8, Avid is closing the third-party NEXIS emulation method historically used to enable shared projects and bin locking. Teams that want supported bin locking on third-party storage will now need Media Composer Enterprise.

Michael Kammes breaks down what's changing, the options available, and what it could mean for your workflow, licensing, and budget.
