Have I ever introduced myself? I’m Gina, creator of Hemlock Shop 🌲 & this is my sister assistant Julia, who often sneaks away from our booth attempting to trade bracelets for sweets with all the baked goods vendors at our markets 😂

🧚‍♂️I started making stone accessories as a wearable reminder to stay grounded, present, and maybe live a little less chaotically 😜
🫈My biz started organically when friends kept asking to turn their favorite rocks into jewelry too.
🐉I was lucky for the opportunity to take a year-long certification study with Hibiscus Moon, learning the biophysical principles of how crystals & gemstones impact the crystalline structures of the human body
🧬 I LOVE to geek out with anyone who wants to chat about crystals! [introverts don’t worry, I won’t start yapping if you just want to shop around😉]
🛘I’m starting to incorporate more stones rockhounded from all around VT into my designs and it’s SO fun
💜Hemlock Shop is always evolving, and I’m creating more hair accessories nowadays as inspired by my mom 😇 who used to braid my hair everyday when I was little, the reason why I won best hair in my eighth grade yearbook 🤣

👁️‍🗨️This ancient symbol has been utilized across cultures to ward off the ‘evil eye’.

🧿My Sicilian heritage calls it the ‘malocchio’. It’s the belief that if someone was particularly envious of you or wishing you ill-will, their malicious gaze (evil eye) could send negativity energy your way, causing misfortune & back luck in your life.

👁️The eye symbol deflects the negative energy back to the sender. Other protective amulets to ward off the malocchio are the cornicello 🌶️ (the Italian horn) or mano co***to (horned hand).

Vermont River Stone Pendants…I’m loving this earthy color palette Mother Nature curated 🥰 though I’m still learning to identify the many minerals in this state, I believe these are VT greenstone, serpentine, quartz, & pink marble- and they all exude a strong grounding & steadying energy. Hand-collected across Vermont. Can’t wait to share these at upcoming markets!

Truly cannot WAIT for the snow to melt so I can collect more driftwood and wander through my happy places looking for stones 😻 for now, I’ll just imagine myself here ✨
