Is the book TRULY better? This month we’re swapping tales with “Big Fish” by Daniel Wallace (keynote speaker of the 2026 Carolina Mountains Literary Festival). The discussion will be led by our very own Ronni Lundy!

"My latest read! From the author of the much beloved North Woods, this book is absolutely hilarious and (no surprise) beautifully written. I'm about halfway through and I've been hooked from the beginning.... Without giving too much away, there is a dog named Giuseppe, a family of simultaneously brilliant and ridiculous intellectuals, and a main character who clearly has undiagnosed ADHD. His love for Russian folktales, new hobbies, and wandering through conversations/collecting new acquaintances is both charming and absurd. Follow his and his family's journey to rural Vermont. I promise you'll enjoy the ride. And maybe Miles (the main character in question) will finally finish his dissertation. Who knows. It seems anything could be possible in this small, eccentric town." -Sarah
