As of 08/24/2026, we’re temporarily closing the books on custom mods and one-off builds while we catch up on current projects. This post will be removed once we’re ready to start taking them on again.

Repairs will continue as scheduled. If you’ve already spoken with us about a custom project prior to this date, continue with your plans as usual.

This little green wire is (supposed to be) the most important safety connection/feature in a tube amp.

If high voltage ever finds its way to the chassis (short; broken wire etc.), the IEC ground connection provides a low impedance path to earth that prevents YOU from becoming that path to earth...

It’s a heavy responsibility to place on one connection, so naturally there are strict guidelines for how that connection should be installed.

Here it was simply wrapped around a transformer bolt and squeezed under the nut, which is not within those guidelines… not by a long shot.
