It has been one full year as of yesterday since the fire. 😢 Hope you all are doing well. We miss you all and the store. 🥰 We said when it burned GOD has his reasons; well HE did not wait long to reveal them I was barely done with insurance paperwork. Life went from bad to worse. My Dad got very sick😢 from the beginning of June until September, I helped Mom with caring for him full time. He had a very aggressive and rare blood cancer. Sadly he passed away. 💔 I got to spend almost all that precious time with him. I truly feel that was GOD’s reason; that time was such a blessing to me. ❤️ Those of you that met my Dad knew he was very strong and active, he was always fixing stuff at the store . So life has been pretty rough for Mom and I, but through it there were many blessings as well. Mom is doing pretty good she has not been sick and is staying busy. I have been doing okay, just trying to figure out what to do with myself now. I am not telling this for sympathy, it is to let you all know how Mom and I have been doing. Some of you became like family to us. We really do miss you all. ❤️

The owner had contacted me shortly after the fire about opening a similar store. I have not gotten a chance to get back to her as life got very chaotic after the fire. I wish her the best! 🥰

Hi all!! Sorry it took me a while to get back to you, I have been consumed with Insurance paperwork;Yuck!
Thank You for all the support and offers to help, they are greatly appreciated!! ❤️ We are sad to say we will not be reopening.😢
The LORD knows I am dumb HE has to be direct with me; in order for me to adjust to HIS plan. I feel this was HIS way of saying I wasn’t to run the store without Mom. We worked the store for 20+ years together, but it was Mom’s accomplishment, she made it the magnificent store it was, I was there to help until my Aunt Nancy came back to work, but instead she got promoted to angel RIP. 💔🙏🏻
In February Mom had health issues that had prevented her from being able to work the store anymore. Exactly 8 weeks after she got out of hospital the fire happened; with no salvageable inventory. To me that was a direct order from HIM. Mom can retire now without worry. HE gave me an awesome last day, my family and friend was there. My grandson was helping me stamp books and we all were having a great time together at the store, where many memories with family was made. 💕🙏🏻 Although I don’t know what HE has planned for me now, I am sure HE will direct me where HE wants me to be. HE always does. 🙏🏻❤️
Thank You All again for your support and friendships over the years. You all and the store will be missed terribly by Mom and I!♥️ Mary Ann & Rochella

It is with a great sadness that we are posting to confirm that Readers’ Paradise is a total loss. We are unsure of where we will go from here, but it goes without being said, we will not be reopening any time soon, if we even do reopen. Thank you all for your patronage over the last 29 years! We will miss each and every one of our customers! ❤️💙💜🌴🏝️📚📚
