Our country looks a lot different today than it once did.And no matter what views we may hold about wars, politics, leadership, or the decisions made throughout history, one truth remains unchanged:
There have always been men and women who loved their country and their fellow Americans more than they loved their own comfort, safety, or even their own lives.
They answered the call. Many left home never knowing if they would return.
Some never did. They served through different administrations, different headlines, different opinions, and different generations; yet they still chose sacrifice. Because of them, we have been able to live in freedom, raise families, chase dreams, speak openly, worship freely, and gather in places just like this little old store that still stands today instead of becoming another piece of a war-torn land.
This Memorial Day, we remember those who laid down the ultimate sacrifice so the rest of us could continue forward.
We honor the paths you blazed and the freedoms you protected. We honor the selflessness and courage it took to give everything for people you may never even have known.
From all of us at The Store, thank you to the fallen, and thank you to the families who carried the weight of that sacrifice long after the uniforms were folded away.
