Sixty years ago, "The Sweet Shop" came into existence. It consisted of gifts, candies, caramel corn and ice cream. Today, the same delicious treats are available but in greater variety. Our Goodies list the many homemade treats we make including over 100 kinds of candy. We continue to produce these luscious candies the old-fashioned way, "One piece at a time". Janeen Russell purchased the store in 2002 from her parents, Paul and Helen Beardsley, who had nurtured the store and served the community for 25 years. It is truly a tradition of the heart. You may see some new boxes on our shelves. But don’t be alarmed! It’s just a new exterior package for the same trademarked candy we call the Snow Bird. We’ve spent a lot of time and energy doing our best to make the Snow Bird box match our business as well as the candy we put inside. We used the same Junco bird that was on the old packaging, but changed a couple smaller details like the color and font.
Inside the box is the same confection we’ve been making since 1962, but it is now accompanied by a refreshed Snow Bird Story detailing more on how and why it was created. We have not changed anything about the recipe, craft, or interior packaging with this new look.
