THIS WILL BE A HANDS-ON CLASS
Kenny and Martha Shipley live in Cadiz, Kentucky and are the owners of Shipley’s Outdoors, founded in 2002. Since that beginning, they have built Shipley’s Outdoors into not only one of the most recognized names in the world of NASP®, but also a nationally known company.
Kenny has always enjoyed hunting and fishing since he was a kid. He and his dad spend many hours fishing on Little River and Lake Barkley. Kenny graduated from the University of Louisville with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He remained in Louisville for 20 years, working with Henry Vogt Machine Company as Engineering Manager of the Tube Ice division. In 1997, Kenny and Martha started a business making custom wooden components for game calls. Before long, they became known as a supplier of quality wood products, especially for the custom turkey call market. In 2003 they moved back to the family farm in Trigg County Kentucky to run the business full-time.
Trigg county Middle school was one of the 5 pilot programs for NASP. Raising three daughters, they found themselves involved in the National Archery in the Schools Program, where they both coached archery students. Through their involvement with the NASP® program, they recognized the need for a local archery dealer, hence the beginning of Shipley’s Archery. After attending many tournaments in the beginning of NASP and watching students struggle with large, bulky bow cases Kenny designed the Gold Ring bow case for Genesis bows. If you have been to a Kentucky, Arkansas, Alabama or National NASP archery tournament it's very likely that you've seen Kenny and Martha and their girls helping archers picking out a new case or replacing and repairing bows.
Today, the Shipleys still live on the farm where they raise cattle, help with three grandsons and run both the game call and archery businesses.
