Today, on International Literacy Day, we celebrate something we believe deeply at The Book Nook: reading changes lives.

When children are introduced to books early—and encouraged to read often—they build more than vocabulary and comprehension. They develop curiosity, imagination, confidence, and a greater understanding of the world around them.

But the joy of reading has no age limit. Every book opens a door, and it’s never too early—or too late—to turn the page.

Calling ALL Crafters! Friends of the Library will be having a fundraiser Friday, September 11 (4PM-6 PM) and Saturday, September 12 (10 AM-1 PM). Interpret a poem or story of your choice using any art form. Crochet, draw, paint, sculpt, build, etc. All proceeds will benefit the Calhoun-Gordon County Library.

All projects should be dropped off to the library by 6 PM on September 4.

You can register online by scanning the code. We look forward to seeing all your projects!
