Did we hear you say you need a CARDBOARD box?! 😖
Quick myth-buster: the common cardboard box, isn't cardboard at all📦!
📄 What people call "cardboard" is usually paperboard: a thin, single-layer sheet, like a cereal box or... a deck of cards! Light, printable, not built to take a hit.
🛡️ What NWPB makes is corrugated board packaging: a fluted layer sandwiched between two flat sheets, like a tiny structural beam running through the whole box.
⚙️ That flute is the difference. It acts like a shock absorber, soaking up impact so whatever's inside doesn't have to.
📏 Flute size changes the job. Bigger flutes mean more cushioning and strength, smaller flutes mean a sharper print surface and tighter fold.
So next time someone says "cardboard box," you know what's actually doing the work is corrugated. Want the full breakdown on flutes and when to use which? It's on our blog 🔗.
