🌺Your vendor contract matters — whether the work is paid, traded, gifted, or “just for exposure.”
If I hadn’t protected myself properly, someone could have taken work I created without compensation or credit and then used that work to promote and profit from their own services.
“it was just a collaboration” should never mean you gave away the rights to your work.
🌺 I built this brand from the reality of being a single mother. You might hear a little noise while I’m working. You might see her with me on a delivery or know that I’m building this business while raising her.
& I’ve had people tell me that it’s “unprofessional.”
Realisticly those aren’t my clients - my business was never built around pretending that motherhood doesn’t exist.
I want my daughter to grow up watching me do it.
I want her to know that success isn’t always polished.
Sometimes it looks like being exhausted and showing up anyway.
🌺Reviews are incredibly important to any business.
But the reality is, most people don’t write them immediately. They write them when they finally have the time — sometimes days, weeks, or even months later.
& that’s exactly why the experience matters so much.
You shouldn’t be thinking only about how to get a five-star review. - You should be creating an experience that makes your client want to relive the feeling they had with you & that’s when your craft becomes an experience, the review becomes more than a rating and reflection of their free time.
It becomes a story they’re excited to relive and tell for generations to come.
The internet is a tool, a digital catalog that highlights the “best” of our days to potential clients but most people in real life want to know how you’ll handle the worst. How you pivot, how you lead & how you carry the responsibility of illustrating a chapter in their story.
That’s why I’m putting together my Fall Digital Product release with practical resources and contract tips designed to help creatives, vendors, & small businesses protect the work they’re putting into their brands & allow creative freedom beyond “likes & reposts” real people want real connection. Your branding is great, but how are you in real life?
