Clifford Oliver “Revolutionary War Photos”

Exhibit runs: July 3-25, 2026

The public is invited to attend the opening reception on July 4, 3-5 PM to view the collection, meet the artist, and celebrate the Semiquincentennial through a masterful local lens.

Accomplished photographer Clifford Oliver celebrates America’s 250th with a Revolutionary War exhibition at Valley Artisans Market. Acclaimed local photographer blends big-city expertise with small-town reverence in a timely historical exhibit opening this Fourth of July.

As we kick off the 250th Independence celebration, we will host a timely photography exhibition. Clifford Oliver will showcase a stunning series of Revolutionary War reenactment photographs in our Small Gallery.

Oliver, a veteran photographer well-versed in advertising, commercial, editorial, and fine art photography, brings a seasoned depth to the collection. Born and raised in New York City, Oliver has spent his adult life in rural New York—a background that allows him to seamlessly blend big-city technical skills with a deep, small-town care for his subjects and community.

"My mission is always to make the photograph happen at any cost—saving only safety and respect," said photographer Clifford Oliver. "These re-enactment pieces are fueled by a deep reverence for life and history, and I’m thrilled to share them with the community during such a monumental milestone for our nation."

EPHEMERAL HORIZONS: Landscape Paintings by Janet Cooke. In the Small Gallery at Valley Artisans Market from June 5 through June 28.

"As an oil painter rooted in the Impressionist tradition, my art mirrors the natural beauty and tranquility of Upstate New York, where I am fortunate to live and create," says Cooke. "My landscapes are born out of a deep appreciation for the changing seasons and the picturesque settings that surround me—the banks of the pristine Mohawk River, the majestic cliffs of Thacher Park, the wilds of Vischer Ferry Nature Preserve, the historic shores of Lake George. My commitment is to translate the profound peace I experience in these locales into my paintings, inviting viewers to share in these serene moments. I paint with thick brushstrokes, bringing texture and dynamism to the canvas. Each painting is a spontaneous exploration, created alla prima without the aid of an underpainting, allowing me to capture the immediacy of the moment and to convey the peace, tranquility, and serenity of the natural world."

Dancing Outdoors: Mixed Media Drawings by Rebecca Zeh

Rebecca Zeh's creative output is uniquely informed by her parallel life as a dancer. Since the age of six, she has studied improvisational dance under Lili Loveday. Her experiences dancing in natural, outdoor environments serve as a primary inspiration for her mixed-media works, which seek to translate the fluidity and spontaneity of movement into a visual medium.
