A true heirloom!

Meg stopped by the studio today to inquire about our class schedule & brought this incredible basket with her! Meg's family is originally from Nantucket, and this basket is an absolute treasure. This basket was commissioned in 2005, woven by Alan Reed and features scrimshaw pieces by Lee Ann Papale.

A sweet 2" round basket with a maple rim and a GrayMist leather handle from today's private class! 🥰 this petite basket took about 3 hours from start to finish.

Thank you so much to everyone who joined our July Kintsugi workshops!

It was wonderful spending time with you, and we hope you enjoyed the experience as much as we did.

Our old friend, Jack Fritsch, showing some of his antique baskets at his shop, the Antiques Depot, in Nantucket. He has some baskets made by the historically significant, Jose Reyes. Jack is extremely knowledgeable about Nantucket baskets. He is a professional appraiser of antique Nantucket baskets.
