Prettiest hour+ run I’ve done in a while! (20mins to the trail on Mtn St, 20mins to the top, 20mins down the front (slowest leg of the trip, mostly walking bc it’s the steep, slippery side), then home!)

Just past peek, but still lots of beauty and color out there!! I’ve been to the top of Mt Battie more times than I can count in my life - and I still stop and take pics like a visitor 😆. Hope everyone is enjoying Fall wherever you are!

A fun surprise visit today from the owners of Wind River Chimes! Jamie, Patty and their adorable granddaughters are visiting from Virginia and stopped in when they saw our 50” Plum chimes hanging outside the store. (Coincidentally, Jamie and I had just been chatting in line at the PO a few minutes earlier.) They’re on a mission to take their grandchildren to all 50 states, which I think is incredible and inspiring. Jamie also helped sell a 50” Green to a customer, lol, doing our work for us!

My favorite part, however, was when I decided saying “Maine!” wouldn’t make for great facial expressions in the photo, so I told them to just say the old standby “regular cheese”…and the girls said “Regular Cheese!!!”

Wind River Chimes are made in the US from made in the US components; we’ve been proudly carrying them in five sizes and two colors for years!

Shoutout to another local business: as long as I can remember, Rockport Automotive has donated $5 from every oil change to a nonprofit or group! That is incredibly generous!

These tea towels by a Blue Hill artist have also been insanely popular! Doesn’t the one blue lobster just make the whole thing?

This incredible piece of craftsmanship is also a knife : ) Damascus blade with a button lock, titanium frame and woolly mammoth handle - so unique and memorable.

In case you haven’t had a chance to meet them yet, these two motivated and well-rounded superstars have helped us this fall and last. Naomi graduated from CHRHS last spring and is taking a gap year, which is why we’re lucky enough to have her into October - you may also recognize her from Camden Cone or Zoot! Eve is a HS junior, often found on the soccer pitch scoring goals for the (undefeated!) Varsity Girls!

We’re so lucky to have them on our OaT team, supporting us thru the very busy leaf peeper season - and hopefully again for the holidays too!

I’m no photographer, but I popped out onto the back deck last night as we were closing to take this picture because I loved the way the light was hitting the colorful dinghies and the large schooners! And we’re just starting to get hints of color on the trees in the background.

September is so pretty here in Maine, maybe even my favorite!

Speaking of color, it’s fun to keep up with the Foliage Report. Happy we’re still a 1, hope we go slow 🍁🍂!

How many iconic Maine sites do you see on these new sponges and reusable cloths? SO many good ones, including puffins, the trolls at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and the Mt Battie tower! We just got a hearty restock of the options: Sponges (three-packs), Mighty Mini (three-packs), and the Anywhere Towels. Plus we have *many* other designs too.

This female-owned company makes their products from recycled water bottles - and they’ve been a HUGE staff and customer favorite since we brought them in!
