I probably should have walked right past this curly maple princess dresser, but I just couldn't leave it behind.

The veneer was simply too far gone to save, so I ended up removing every damaged layer (including the underlying poplar) from all but one drawer. Definitely not the quick makeover I had imagined!

After many hours of scraping, sanding, and second-guessing myself, she's finally beginning to reveal a completely different personality.

I'm getting close to the finish line, and I'm loving the direction this rustic transformation is taking.

I’ve been on the lookout for a cabinet if this scale and age for quite some time and absolutely could not believe when I won it at auction (I thought it would easily climb into the thousands). Now, I did overpay on some other items to balance it out (for future reference “choice” means you get to pick the one you want for the price you bid and when the auctioneer asks if you want them both, you have to say “no,” even if you do because he’s not actually asking if you want them, he’s asking if you want to pay that price times two-or in my case, times 7.) 🤣

I do a lot of staging on pieces that are for sale (or coming up for sale) and this antique pine jelly cabinet works beautifully for my collected European vibe. I’ll be the first to say my repair isn’t perfect, but I’m still pretty proud! This stunning royal blue wedge wood lamp from the early 1900s was broken on the bottom when I picked it up from auction. A little research, time, and $ for some new products went a long way in making this piece structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing. I also took the opportunity to disassemble the lamp and clean all the metal elements. A project that was certainly worth taking the time to complete. I’m in love with this vintage black iron French bakers rack.🖤 Standing just over 7ft tall, this piece has incredible architectural presence. Beautiful shelves come in handy everywhere- the kitchen, pantry, bathroom, mudroom, dining room, or even outside! I styled the piece with a gilt mirror, muted florals, large vessels, and a sizable basket to showcase its versatility for both storage and display.
