🎨 THE VOTES ARE IN! OUR YOUNG ARTISTS COLORING CONTEST WINNERS ARE HERE! 🎨

After lots of votes from our shoppers and some tough decisions from our staff, we officially have the four winners of Katsu Collective’s first Young Artists Coloring Contest!

🏆 Ages 0–6
⭐ Top Customer Votes: River — Entry #9
❤️ Staff Favorite: Loxley — Entry #6

🏆 Ages 7–16
⭐ Top Customer Votes: Amelia — Entry #25
❤️ Staff Favorite: Norah — Entry #24

The older bracket was especially close! Amelia pulled out a very slight lead over Norah in the customer voting, while our staff selected Norah as their favorite.

All four winners have been notified, and a few have already stopped in to pick up their prize baskets! 🎁

A HUGE thank you to every young artist who participated, everyone who stopped by to check out the artwork, and all of our shoppers who took the time to vote. We loved having all 25 entries displayed throughout the store, and this turned out to be such a fun and successful way to celebrate the creativity of our local kids!

🖍️ For all remaining participants: If you’d like to keep your coloring page, you’re welcome to stop back in and pick it up. We’ll have the remaining entries available at the front counter.

Our first coloring contest was such a success that we can guarantee it won’t be our last. 👀

🎨 VOTING IS NOW OPEN! 🗳️

Our young artists have finished their entries, the artwork is up, and now we need YOU to help choose the winners of the Katsu Collective Kids Coloring Contest!

The next time you stop by Katsu Collective to shop our selection from 30+ local vendors and small businesses, take an extra minute to check out all of the amazing coloring contest entries displayed in the store and cast your votes!

We have two age groups, and you can vote for your favorite entry in each:

🎨 Ages 7–16

And you don’t have to choose just once…

⭐ Shoppers may vote once per day through August 31! ⭐

So if you have a favorite, stop back in and vote again!

Voting closes Monday, August 31, and we’ll tally the votes and announce the winners Tuesday, September 1.

🎨 ARTISTS & AUTHORS — APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN! 📚

We’re excited to announce that applications are officially LIVE for the new Artist Alley & Book Nook at Katsu Collective!

We’re expanding the store to create dedicated areas showcasing even more of the creativity found throughout our local community.

🎨 ARTIST ALLEY will feature work from local artists, illustrators, creators, and other independent creatives.

📚 BOOK NOOK will give local and independent authors and bookish vendors a place to get their books in front of shoppers 7 days a week inside Capital City Mall.

We’re looking for a diverse mix of creative work, including original artwork, prints, stickers, illustrations, handmade creative pieces, books, bookish products, and other items that fit the vision for these new areas.

Unlike our traditional vendor spaces, Artist Alley & Book Nook will use a curated shared-display format, allowing us to feature work from more creators while keeping the area organized, interesting, and constantly worth exploring.

The space is already coming together, and after all the questions and conversations we’ve had with artists, authors, and shoppers over the past few weeks, we’re VERY excited to finally start filling it!

🎉 Congratulations to our Grand Opening Giveaway Winner! 🎉

Congratulations to Madison, the winner of our Grand Opening Celebration gift basket! She stopped by yesterday to pick up her prize, packed with products generously contributed by vendors throughout Katsu Collective.

What started as a giveaway basket grew into quite the collection thanks to our vendors, and we loved being able to send one lucky shopper home with a little bit of Katsu Collective! ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by during our Grand Opening Celebration, entered the drawing, shopped with our vendors, participated in the activities, and helped make the weekend such a success.

And, of course, thank you to all of our vendors who contributed items to make this basket possible.

Congratulations again, Madison! We hope you enjoy everything! 🎁

Taking a little time to reflect on an incredible Grand Opening weekend, and I wanted to make sure I shared this.

A sincere thank you to PA State Rep. Sheryl Delozier and her office for taking the time to join us for our ribbon cutting and Grand Opening Celebration. We truly appreciate the warm welcome and support for Katsu Collective and the community of local makers, artists, and small businesses we’re building.

We also want to thank the West Shore Chamber of Commerce, Capital City Mall, our amazing vendors, and everyone who came out to celebrate with us. It was a weekend we’ll never forget.

Today, my office helped welcome Katsu Collective to the Capital City Mall. This new shop has one-of-a-kind, locally inspired, artisan-made gifts, home decor, candles, accessories, crochet creations, collectibles, jewelry and more from talented small businesses and makers. Welcome to the 88th District!

What an incredible day!

Today we officially celebrated the Grand Opening of Katsu Collective with our ribbon cutting ceremony, and what a day it was!

A heartfelt thank you to the West Shore Chamber of Commerce, PA State Rep. Sheryl Delozier and her office, our family and friends, our incredible vendors, and everyone who came out to celebrate with us. The support we’ve received from this community has been overwhelming, and seeing our store filled with shoppers throughout the day made all of the hard work worthwhile.

But we’re not done yet…

🎉 Grand Opening Weekend continues Saturday!

There’s still plenty to experience, including:

🎨 Our Kids Coloring Contest, where young artists can color a page for a chance to win prizes! Throughout August, the completed entries will be proudly displayed around the store while shoppers vote for their favorites. Then in September, those walls will begin transforming into something even bigger as we launch our brand-new Artist Alley, showcasing artwork from talented local artists. More details on how artists can participate will be coming soon!

📚 We’re also incredibly excited to be putting the finishing touches on our Book Nook. Judging by all the conversations we had today, we know many of you are just as excited as we are. We can’t wait to share more very soon.

Young artists are invited to help us launch our upcoming Artist Alley by coloring a special contest page at our activity table outside the store.

Artwork will be displayed throughout August, and shoppers will be able to vote for their favorite once per day. We’ll award prizes for both the People’s Choice Winner and our Staff Favorite!
