The Ouaker Oats Company in Akron, Ohio. Founded in 1877 as the Quaker Mills Company, it later merged with 3 other companies.

After the downtown Akron location was closed in the 1950's, some of the remaining buildings that were spared demolition where converted to a shopping and dining destination called Quaker Square. It was one of my favorite places to go as a kid in the '80's & '90's.

The silos were turned into the Quaker Hilton Hotel and were renovated to add balconies and all. The second picture is the hotel looking up from the ground.

Quaker Square eventually closed along with the hotel, which was a sad day for downtown. It was later bought by the University of Akron and the hotel became dorms. The shops never reopened. The site is officially on the national registry as an historic site, so the buildings still stand to this day.
