This is my 2021 temperature blanket—and choosing the temperature ranges was one of the hardest parts of planning it!

So I made a tool to help. Enter your U.S. ZIP code and number of yarn colors, and it uses five years of nearby weather data to suggest temperature ranges for your project. Here’s how to use it!

Choosing yarn colors for a temperature blanket is fun. Figuring out the temperature ranges? That’s where I always got stuck!

After making a couple of temperature projects, I created a temperature planner calculator to help!

Just enter your ZIP code and choose how many temperature ranges you want. It uses the past 5 years of weather data from the closest NOAA weather station to create your ranges. That way you can get to the fun part: picking your yarn!

Whether you’re planning a temperature blanket, a jellyfish, or something completely different, I hope this makes getting started a little easier.

Making a temperature blanket or jellyfish? Picking the temperature ranges was always the hardest part for me—so I made a tool to help!

Enter your ZIP code and number of yarn colors. The planner uses five years of historical temperatures from a nearby NOAA weather station to suggest your ranges. Choose equal ranges or balanced ranges to help spread your yarn colors more evenly.

Save this for your next temperature project.

🌋 New block drop! 🌺

The Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park square is officially finished and added to my National Park crochet blanket! This one was so fun to design—and actually erupting volcano inspired by one of the most unique parks in the U.S. ❤️🧶

Each block in this blanket tells a story, and this one is all about the power and beauty of our ever-changing Earth.

Which park should I create next? 👀
