Stokesia laevis
Stokes’ Aster is a hardy, 1–2 ft tall native perennial known for its large, fringed purple-blue flowers. It is a reliable bloomer that provides color from spring all the way through fall. This plant thrives in sun to part shade. It grows in tidy clumps that are easy to divide every few years. It’s a great choice for borders and is excellent at attracting bees and butterflies.

Formosan lily is originally a native to Taiwan (formerly Formosa). The tall, erect 4 to 7 feet tall stems have fine, narrow leaves and large trumpet shaped fragrant white flowers appearing in late summer to fall. It grows best in full sun to part shade. Flowers are followed by upturned seed capsules, which make excellent additions to dried floral arrangements.

See y’all Saturday! 💚🌿

🌰 Not a nut, almond nor an invasive plant but sweet, crunchy and nutritious; tiger nuts, ground almonds or chufa are easy to grow in large containers or raised beds. They love sun, heat, and consistent moisture. They can be eaten fresh, ground for flour or blended into a tasty drink, horchata. To read more about them and especially their nutritional benefits see the Tiger Nut article on eatgangster.com. [Type ‘tiger nut growing’ in website’s search box]
We have limited quantities of organically-grown, “head-start” plants available if you’re ready to try growing them. Great for homestead or small market growers.
