Dolly Partonā€™s beloved ā€œCoat of Many Colorsā€ was inspired by a coat her mother made from scraps of fabric. Itā€™s a story sewists and quilters understand well. Every scrap can hold a memory, every stitch can tell a story, and something made by hand can become priceless to the person who receives it.

Iā€™ve waited all summer for this!!!We are in for a treat with 80 beautiful colors due to arrive for COLOR COMPASS Block of the Month starting in early October. Itā€™s been fun teaching this young lady about fabric, threads, pinning, seam ripping and using a sewing machine. Her smile and her enthusiasm says it all. She came as a bystander and ended up a sewing diva! She didnā€™t know she was going to learn something so fun while hanging out with her grandad.
