Sometimes I think people look at Pearl & Company and see the candles.
I see a completely different story.
I started making candles during a time in my life when I was trying to find myself again.
I had spent so much of my life being defined by the roles I played, the things I had accomplished, and the person I thought I was supposed to be.
And suddenly, I was forced to ask myself…
Who am I when all of that is stripped away?
Making candles became my way of figuring that out.
My brother had already spent 15 years in the candle industry. He knew the business inside and out, and he became the person who taught me, guided me, and helped me turn an idea into something real.
He taught me how to pour.
He taught me about fragrance, wax, wicks, formulation and the business behind it.
But the most important thing I learned wasn’t about making candles.
It was about making space for myself.
Every scent I created became a little piece of my story.
Resilience.
Starting over.
Letting go.
Becoming.
Finding the light again.
Pearl & Company became more than a candle company.
It became a reflection of me.
A place where I could take everything I had been through and turn it into something beautiful.
And somewhere between melting wax, creating scents, building a brand and learning an entirely new industry…
I found myself again.
Looking back, I don’t think I started making candles because I knew I was building a business.
I started because I needed something to hold onto.
And somehow, that little spark became Pearl & Company.
The company I built while I was rebuilding me. 🕯️🤍
This is my story.
And I’m finally ready to tell more of it.
