I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. ✨

Yes, it’s my birthday month, but it’s also a season of texture, vibrancy, and the kind of deep richness that lives at the heart of seasonal design.

That’s the beauty of design: the natural evolution of the seasons keeps us moving, changing, and continually inspired. Each one brings its own palette, its own rhythm, and a fresh invitation to create.

A look back on R & B’s beautiful day. ✨

Even years later, I can still remember the details of working with this sweet bride. One of the things I love most about what I do is how personal the process becomes. I get to know my couples, hear their stories, learn what matters most to them, and translate those little pieces of their lives into something tangible through flowers.

Because of that, I find myself remembering so many of the people behind the weddings, long after the flowers have faded and the day has passed.

A little nostalgia for this lovely celebration, and a reminder of why I love what I do. 🤍

Yesterday, the season turned.

There’s something about autumn light, warm and golden, settling softly over fields and making everything feel a little more alive.

This design was inspired by that feeling: toffee and vibrant orange roses glowing against soft white, with jasmine vine winding freely through it all.

A little wild. A little romantic. Completely of the season.

How I Decide Where Flowers Actually Belong 🌿

More flowers doesn't always mean better design.

When I begin planning the floral design for a wedding, I'm not simply looking for every possible place to put an arrangement. I'm looking at the space as a whole.

I consider the architecture, sightlines, guest experience, photography, movement throughout the event, and, of course, where your floral investment will have the greatest impact.

Sometimes that means a dramatic ceremony installation. Sometimes it's a beautiful floral moment at the bar or entrance. Sometimes it's choosing to leave a space intentionally untouched.

Because good floral design isn't about filling every surface, It's about knowing where flowers matter most. ✨

3 Considerations When Choosing Your Wedding Florist ✨

✨️Artistic Range + Point of View

You’re not just choosing a style, you’re choosing a designer’s ability to interpret different spaces, moods, and scales. Look for someone whose work shows both consistency in quality and flexibility in expression.

✨️Their Approach To Design

Some florists work from replication, others work from interpretation. One isn’t better, but it changes your experience. Do you want something closely planned in advance, or something that evolves with season, flow, and environment?

✨️How They Shape Atmosphere

Great floral design isn’t just about arrangements, it’s about how a space feels when everything comes together. Light, scale, movement, and placement matter just as much as the flowers themselves.

When you’re choosing a florist, what matters more to you, a very specific look, or a designer you trust with interpretation?

One thing I’ve become increasingly fascinated by is how dramatically floral design changes from region to region.

Miami moves an extraordinary volume of imported flowers, yet access to highly curated specialty product can still feel surprisingly limited compared to places like the Pacific Northwest, where grower networks and seasonal flower culture are deeply embedded into the industry.

It’s changed the way I think about seasonality, sourcing, and even design itself. Florists aren’t just designing with color and form — we’re designing within the realities of our regional ecosystems.

And the more I think about it, the more I believe access shapes artistry.

When florists consistently have access to nuanced, seasonal, specialty product, it expands creative skill, experimentation, collaboration, and ultimately the visual identity of an entire market.

It makes me wonder what Florida floristry could become with stronger networks between growers, boutique wholesalers, and designers seeking more regionally connected sourcing.

Curious what other florists, growers, and wholesalers think — what’s something you feel our regional floral ecosystem is still missing?

An airy, garden-inspired bridal bouquet designed with heirloom roses, delicate delphinium, and cascading phalaenopsis orchids. The palette of soft whites, blush, and powder blue is gently punctuated with fresh green textures, creating a piece that feels romantic, textural, and quietly luxurious.

Congratulations M & R 🤍

Planning wedding flowers in SWFL isn’t about limiting your vision, it’s about designing with intention.

No blooms are off limits. Even delicate varieties can absolutely be incorporated beautifully, they just need thoughtful placement, proper hydration, and a plan that considers the environment they’re in.

From sun exposure and timing to repurposing designs into high-impact areas (preferably shaded), every decision plays a role in how your florals look and last throughout the day.

My approach is always to work *with* the space so your flowers not only look beautiful, but hold up beautifully too.

Because the goal isn’t just stunning florals… it’s florals that last long enough to be fully experienced. 🌿

This is why floral design in Florida is as much logistics as it is artistry.
