- Small Levee Loop:

- Pine Hills Gravel Loop:
Just under 30 miles with 2000 ft elevation gain. This Route takes you up, across, and down one of the most scenic Mississippi River Valley Ridges. Tucked into the Shawnee National Forest, this route passes by the Bald Knobb Cross turn, has access to resupply in Alto Pass and is mixed 60/40 gravel/ pavement. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/34718028

- Kozy Korner Out & Back
Just under 40 miles out and back with several optional turn-offs for swimming holes, route adjustments, and more - this route takes ya straight from downtown Cape Girardeau Missouri to the Front Door of Kozy Korner and Back. Kozy Korner is a favorite diner of ours to visit on bikes. This route is mixed gravel pavement with 1400 ft of elevation gain with all of that mostly rolling hills, except for the optional climb out of Thebes to avoid riding on hwy 3. The alternate route on HWY 3 IS safe and has a steady shoulder, so adjust the route to your liking. Who was riding mountain bikes when this thing came out?!

How about a little Sunday history deep dive:

A blast from the past, this GT STS-1 Downhill bike played a pivotal role in mtb history.

In the scope of an American performance race against materials in the mid 1990’s, Richard Long CEO & founder at GT always had a notion to push to the bar further, wherever that led. Straying from their roots of widely respected American frame welding of chromoly steel and 6061 heat-treated aluminum, this was a wildly new venture for the team out in Santa Ana, California.

As compared to thermoset carbon fiber which uses a resin / glue to effectively laminate the individual carbon fiber threads into sheets of carbon fiber material with varying thickness, their thermoplastic approach involved interweaving melted nylon fibers into the Carbon.

It wasn’t long before the approach to carbon fiber frames continued to evolve, however. Call it what you want, but however you look at it, this era of American bicycle manufacturing ingenuity was a pivotal learning curve that helped get us where we are today.

We had the fortune of stumbling into this treasure over the weekend after throwing some new shoes on it for a customer.
