CALL FOR ARTISTS

BIG little MINI is a small-scale art show at Rootstock celebrating local artists, tiny artwork, and the creative joy in little things.

We’ve already had so much interest that we’re expanding the number of artists we’re accepting and extending applications through October 10.

Here’s the idea:
Create a set of 4 original, wall-hanging pieces
All 4 pieces should be the same size
Each piece should be 4 × 4 inches or smaller
Artists are welcome to submit more than one set

The show opens Saturday, November 7, during Rootstock’s 6-year anniversary celebration, with an opening reception from 3–7pm.

Artwork will stay up throughout November.

Apply through the link in our bio. The application has all the details you’ll need. 💛

BIG little MINI is a collaboration between Rootstock + Cheyenne of White Rabbit Social Club

Six years ago today, I pulled the paper off these windows and opened the doors to Rootstock for the very first time.

I really had no idea what I was doing. 😂

I had an idea, a storefront, a lot of hope, and a feeling that I just needed to go for it.

And somehow, six years later, here we are.
Rootstock has changed a lot since this video was taken. I’ve changed a lot too. There have been really beautiful seasons, really hard ones, plenty of figuring-it-out-as-I-go, and so many people who have become part of this place along the way.

What started as an idea for a permanent makers market has become something I don’t think I could have imagined. It’s been an honor to be a home for so many local artists, a place where people come to find something meaningful, and a space where so many stories have been shared and true connections have been made.

I’m really proud of what Rootstock has grown into, even more grateful for all the people who have helped it grow.

The artists who trusted me with their work. The customers who kept walking through the door. The friends and community who helped me build, move, paint, rearrange, problem-solve and keep going. And everyone who has rooted for this little shop over the last six years. Every single kind word, shared story and show of support has made an impression on my heart and I could not be more grateful.

Happy 6 years, Rootstock. 💛🩷🩵

Still figuring it out. Still changing. Still here.

With a full heart,

- Nicole
