Surprise! It's not only our waist bands that are expanding during this pandemic! Yes, GiGi's is expanding, too! First off, we have broken out of our section of the magical blue cabinet at Country Gypsy (118 N. West Street) and are now in a wondrous white one where you can actually see the items and pick them up (without fear of breaking some cardinal rule of sliding a cabinet door without proper supervision)! I will be adding some items there this week. I will also be taking photos. (Sorry in advance for my lack of skills) Secondly, we are now also located at It Is What It Is (190 Carlinville Plaza). More items will be added this week & as time goes by. Time constraints & physical stamina prevented more to be done on the official set up date. But, hey, two locations within 11 months...not too shabby! 😁

Now we know why I never became a photographer. 😁 Just some I took during yesterday's visit to the shop. It gives you an idea of what you will find. Make sure you come visit Country Gypsy soon! Don't forget the sidewalk sale continues tomorrow!!

Lots of new items added! I've taken new necklaces (including more of the rainbow quartz & the ones with the glow in the dark stone pendants--blue, purple, green, & even and orange). Today I refilled the magnet board (now located in the hall before you enter the main room). We have STL Cardinals & Blues, some Chicago Cubs & Bears, horses, butterflies, Baby Yoda, Star Wars, Mickey & Minnie, tie-dye, etc. (I added about 3 dozen new ones today. LOL) I also took up the first dozen decorated drinking vessels...coffee cups, water bottles, glass mugs, large lidded drinking glasses. We have everything from CHS, CAVIES, butterflies, kittens, to humor. There is something there for everyone. The next trip up (possibly in the morning) I will be refilling the keychains...Harley, Cardinals, Cubs, Cavies, horses, Baby Yoda, Star Wars Hard Rock Café, etc. There will be even more goodies coming now that we are allowed to visit our favorite places to be! 😁

Yes, I know it's early but I wanted to catch you before you made all of your plans today! The Carlinville Christmas Market will still be going on today on & around the square, at the mansion (they still have goodies & pies, plus all the handmade items), and I do believe the plaza still will have things going on out there! So, if you didn't make it to out Friday evening or yesterday, you still have a chance today!

Yes, I know I'm blowing up your newsfeed this morning, but all for a very good reason! The 30th Annual Carlinville Christmas Market starts TODAY! The square, courthouse, mansion & shops in town are all in their festive finery. The weather today is even feeling a bit nippy to help you get into the holiday spirit!

First off, you can take the guided tour of the Macoupin County Courthouse from 1pm-3pm on Saturday. (A new one starts every 30 minutes.) The Sears Home tours (1039 N. Charles) will be offered from 1pm-4pm. Admission is $5 per tour & $8 for both tours. Admission for school aged kids is only $1.

Secondly, there is a free shuttle service so you are able to park at one location & take the shuttle to every where else. No need to stress over whether you can find a parking spot everywhere you want to go! Just hop the shuttle! It has stops at the Carlinville Plaza, the Anderson Mansion, the church across from the high school that has vendors & more on Friday & Saturday, and the square.

Lastly, what can you expect to see and do? We've covered the tours. There is a petting zoo, live nativity, kids craft area, free sleigh rides, free fire engine rides, street performers, carolers, free Christmas movies at the Marvel Theatre (Saturday) and lights galore! I know that Santa & even the Grinch will be visiting Country Gypsy. I also know there will be live music all weekend at Country Gypsy.

Now, for the main reason most go to the market...the SHOPPING! You have the vendors on the square & at the big church (plus Sullivan's has something special going on). You have the shops out at the plaza. You have all the stores on & around the square. You have tons of options and will find something for every one on your list!
