We know Carlinville is anxiously waiting to hear the final results of Hallmark’s Merriest Christmas Town contest, but while we wait until the end of the month for results, we have other exciting news to share!

Midwest Living is coming to Carlinville!

On Thursday, October 15, Midwest Living Magazine will be here for a special Christmas community photoshoot at the Macoupin County Courthouse, and they want more than just a beautiful backdrop. They want to feature the people who make Carlinville, Carlinville.

We’re inviting families, business owners and employees, students, community organizations, city and county leaders, and anyone who loves Carlinville to join us at the courthouse to be part of it.

Come ready for a little Christmas in October and help us show Midwest Living the community that has already gotten people across the country talking about Carlinville.

And the timing couldn’t be better! Witches Night Out is happening that evening, so after the photoshoot, stick around town for shopping, dinner and all the fun.

Carlinville!! Let’s give the Gold Star Mission riders the welcome they deserve. 🇺🇸

The Gold Star Mission 500-mile bike ride is underway, and this afternoon Wednesday the 23rd, the riders will make their way through Carlinville before stopping at the Bates Building at the Macoupin County Fairgrounds.

They’re hoping for a BIG Macoupin County welcome, and there are two easy ways to be part of it:

🇺🇸 Line the route through shown around 3:00 p.m. and cheer them on as they ride through town.

🇺🇸 Head to the Macoupin County Fairgrounds and help welcome the riders as they come through Gate 1. Their estimated arrival at the Bates Building is 3:26 p.m.

Once they arrive, there will be food, drinks, raffles and a presentation from Gold Star Mission sharing more about why they ride and the fallen military members they carry with them throughout those 500 miles.

This is one of those moments when a few minutes of your afternoon can help make a pretty incredible welcome.

Looks like Carlinville has some voting to do again!
But don’t worry, we’re not sending you on another daily voting journey. This one is ONE vote, and you’re done!
The Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway Awards are underway, and there are a whole lot of familiar Carlinville names on the list. In fact, Carlinville has SIX nominations across FIVE award categories!
Public voting remains open through September 14, so let’s show some love to:

Their investment and partnership have played a big role in what visitors experience right here in Carlinville, including the restoration of the Cannonball Jail and the Route 66 attractions that continue to bring travelers into our community.

We along with several locations/businesses in Carlinville are on this awards list!
