Peg Rollins has chosen : Our Next Charity designation will be the 'Carlisle Council on Aging' 🪙
Margaret "Peg" Rollins has been traditionally consulted regarding our 10% Sales Charity. 🐦

There was a misconception a few years ago that Peg "doesn't care" about where the Charity 'ought be allocated.
Margaret Rollins cares very much where our funds go & was always consulted by the previous Gallery leadership.

We will be making our Best efforts to be as Transparent & Open as possible regarding our operations. We welcome Any & All input, this business is centered on Supporting our Local Community and Artisan Crafts in all their forms. 🎨 ✨️ 🎶 🌼🌸 Thank You All Very Much 🙏 🌞

'.we wanted to share some of the progress continuing behind the scenes at Ferns.
.groundwater testing, well testing & indoor air sampling, environmental testing has been in progress. .working toward a long-term septic solution for the site..perc test scheduled with a septic engineer in June.
.in the process of scheduling a follow-up meeting with MassDEP to continue discussing remediation planning, next steps & the path toward eventual transfer of ownership.
.meeting & working closely with the Town Administrator, Planning Board & other town departments as permitting & infrastructure discussions continue moving forward.

Why this process takes so long?
Why so much testing is happening now?

The property having been a former gas station, causes environmental monitoring..
Transfer of ownership triggers an extensive review process under DEP regulations, especially because the site carries an existing DEP lien. These reviews & approvals are important before a property like this can reopen under new ownership.

Future operators at Turnpike Market have generously offered to deliver to Carlisle through their app &/or DoorDash.'

🥳 Announcement: We are Absolutely Thrilled to have Rebecca Alden return to our Artisan Gallery! Their Silver work is Fantastic & we know many have been eagerly awaiting their exquisite Jewelry ✨️.
We hope you will enjoy seeing these wonderful pieces here on display to be admired and / or purchased .
Here's how Rebecca describes their Art:

"These jewely designs were created from my hand drawings transferred onto scratch-foam board, then impressed into sterling silver PMC (precious metal clay) (PMC is composed of microscopic sterling silver metal particles, water and an organic binder that burns away during firing). After the piece is embossed into the PMC it is allowed to dry and then fired in a kiln, becoming pure metal. Using sterling silver PMC allows me to solder sterling components onto the pieces to create pendants and earrings.

The final step on these pieces was to create a patina on the surface of the metal using a liver of sulphur solution. I chose to patina some pieces with a traditional antique grey/black, strategically removing the color with polishing papers from the high spots to better reveal the design. The iridescent colored patinas were achieved by adding  ammonia to the liver of sulphur solution and slowly allowing the Patina to develop. It is an interesting process where the results can often be quite unexpected! " - Rebecca Alden
