Good evening, everyone! I got super busy in the shop today and forgot to make this post earlier, so here it is…
We have a slightly modified schedule for tomorrow (Saturday). The shop will be open 9a-2p, rather than our normal 10a-3p. It’s my birthday tomorrow so I’m taking the day off. Dylan will be here, covering the shop for me while I take a moment to smell the roses. Repair/service customers, please make note of the schedule change and plan accordingly for drop offs and pickups. Otherwise, see y’all on Tuesday morning at 9am. Have a great weekend!!

Absolutely incredible! 60+ shirts sold in just the first 24 hrs of this fundraiser. Hats off to everyone who purchased a shirt, generously donating the proceeds to Vickie's Angel Foundation. I honestly had no idea how well this would do. And, so far, it's already exceeded any expectations. Obviously, the goal here is to raise as much as possible. However, this is a limited run. We will keep the link live for another 14 days. After that we will tally up the proceeds and make the donation in both Randy and Molly's names. In the meantime, we need you to continue to share the link and get it out there as far as we can. If you haven't already bought a shirt, please consider doing so.
The holidays will be here before you know it, grab one as a gift for your favorite guitar player, your drummer, bass player, singer, even your Mom! Remember, all proceeds go to a worthy cause that's based right here in Central Pa, helping families that may be your neighbors or even your own family. Buying a shirt is an easy and affordable way to support Vickie's Angel Foundation and also keep Randy's legacy alive. Thank you, everyone, for supporting this effort! 10 years ago today we had to say goodbye and it was far too soon. Randal Ray Robertson was larger than life in oh so many ways. He was a loving husband, a proud father, an honest businessman and a friend to so many of us. He loved music, guitars, a good sip of scotch, and talking ridiculously funny nonsense with anyone who walked through his shop door. He loved Grand Funk Railroad. He believed in good karma and doing the right thing. And when he needed to “go to church”, he’d hop on that bike, twist the grip of life and take a long ride. Randal stood up for what he believed in and that was never more evident than in the last years of his life as he advocated for the change of laws within our state towards the legalization of medicinal ma*****na. He knew that it eased the suffering of those battling cancer because he was in that fight himself. He was fearless, and I loved that about him.

Randal lost his fight on August 5, 2016. His dear wife, Molly Landon Robertson, joined him in April of 2024. Her life also cut far too short by the big C. Molly was beautiful, both inside and out, and she was the perfect balance to Randy’s one-of-a-kind persona.

In honor of Randy, Molly and Triple R Guitar, which was both a historic staple in our local music community for 17 years and also a place that brought so many people together, please consider purchasing one of these Reissue Triple R Guitar shirts. Just $25 each, 100% of the profits from these sales will be donated to Vickie's Angel Foundation, a local organization doing very good things and who were there when the Robertsons needed them most. The design is true to the original Triple R design, with a couple of updates, including three red ribbons on the front logo and the dates of operation for the shop on the back. And, in the true spirit of Triple R Guitar, it’s Totally Unauthorized...
Both men’s and women’s fits are available. Upon ordering, you can choose to have your shirt shipped directly to you ($6.99 flat rate shipping applies) or you can pick it up at Woodshed Guitar Works in Carlisle or at Rock Mill Industries in Mechanicsburg. Speaking of Rock Mill, this effort would not be possible without all of the overwhelming help from Logan Summey of RMI. Logan has selflessly donated all of his time and is making not dime one for any of it. Thank you, Logan.
Be sure to choose Rock Mill Industries for all of your branding and merch needs.

Everyone has a Randy story. All of them special, unique and funny in their own way. I spent a lot of time working with Randy at Triple R and I have so many. My time there and that experience left an indelible impression on me and my life wouldn’t be the same had I not. I remember Randy always and think of him often. And, always with a smile and a laugh.
Long Live the King… F**k Cancer.

It pays to save. I’m currently working on a Fender Strat that came in for a level/crown and the 11th fret, right below the B string, had a diabolically nasty groove cut into it, the result of a forward fall, after it was leaned against a piece of furniture. C’mon, we’ve all done it. Anyway, the groove was so deep that the fret couldn’t be saved, even after attempting to do so. So, the options were either A: find some fret wire in my stock that matched or B: refret the entire guitar for one fret. I want to get this guitar back to its owner on the quick, so option B really wasn’t an option. After having no luck looking for a match in my new fret stock (which meant possibly having to order some, on a Friday), I remembered that I had some pulls from some past jobs. As luck would have it, I have a full set of pulls from a ‘95 Am. Std Strat, a job from way back in 2013. There’s almost a 10 year difference between the two guitars, but the fret wire is almost a spot-on match, which is gonna save a bunch of time, making it possible to get this one back home quickly. So, yeah, it definitely pays to save. Until next time!…
