2020 brought a worldwide pandemic and devastating local fires that dealt blows to our community. Artistic pursuits took a back seat to safety and necessity. Art is a way to heal. Last fall, after two years of hard work and effort, the Carmel Valley Art Association was granted its nonprofit 501(c)(3)status. Soon after we received a generous grant from the Arts Council for Monterey & Monterey County Board of Supervisors. These funds immediately went to work on behalf of the artists, including those for whom art is a passion, career, and emotional outlet. To promote our local art and artists we are currently rebuilding our website: www.cvartassoc.org to better serve our artists and community’s needs. This will soon be finished. Stay tuned! We have recently moved again into our "forever happy place" at #8 Del Fino Place (next to Cafe Rustica). Believing in the generous support of our community at large, we are now busy laying the groundwork for a fantastic year! This recent transition to a nonprofit organization enables us to broaden our outreach among the local art community and bring art experience to more people by:
a) being more inclusive for local studio artists,
b) offering "Just For Kid’s" workshops, FREE under 14 yrs. c) continuing adult instruction in multi media ~ painting in oil and acrylic, mosaic, and other media,
d) starting our own CVAA plein aire group at local C.V. venues with various CVAA Featured Artists,
e) reinstating our popular ‘paint-n-sip’ events with Featured Artist Linda Elling... and so much more. Carmel Valley Art Association has long been the artistic “hub” and the largest fine art gallery in the region with an impressive roster of local talent. The CVAA promotes local art and artists. Visitors and locals alike come to the gallery to enjoy the variety and to be inspired. Please take a moment now to support the arts and artists through CVAA. Large or small, all financial support helps to nurture art in our community. TO DONATE NOW: https://checkout.square.site/merchant/MLCZWB556PEEP/checkout/HTNAP6HJAKZNM4E3K3Y5K3XT
