KCD's Cover Crop Giveaway for community gardens is now open!

Cover crops are plants grown to support soil health that are generally grown over winter when we aren't growing much else. They help to "cover" and protect the soil like a blanket over the winter, hence the name. They should be planted after prepping your beds for the winter, no later than October 1st.

This year, KCD's Community Agriculture Program will be providing free crimson clover, field pea, forage radish, annual ryegrass, and fava bean seeds to community gardens.
