Say Hello to Pine Straw Mulch

We’re excited to introduce Pine Straw Mulch, now available at Barn Owl for pickup or local delivery.

Why gardeners love it:
• Lightweight and easy to spread
• Helps lock in moisture and block weeds
• OMRI Listed for organic gardening
• Stays put, even on slopes
• Helps insulate roots from summer heat and winter cold
• Long-lasting and low maintenance
• Renewable and hand-raked from naturally fallen pine needles

Each bale weighs about 14 lbs. and covers approximately 40 sq. ft.

Employee Spotlight: Denny 🐾

Denny’s role at Barn Owl is very important: evaluating store traffic flow, lying down in the busiest possible spots, and keeping a close eye on anything that might be food.
His favorite season is spring, and his plant match is the dogflower, better known to the rest of us as a snapdragon. Despite being a dog himself, Denny is definitely a people person.

His dream weekend outside includes no darkness, plenty of sunshine, and absolutely no standing. He’s currently very excited about the Swiss cheese plant, mostly because he cannot wait to eat it. Please don’t tell him it isn’t actually cheese.
Denny can talk forever about shelf-stable meats and cheeses, nut butters, sunning himself, and, of course, Bader.

Next time you visit Barn Owl, be sure to say hello, just watch your step.
