1 acre. 40 rows. 20,000 strawberry plants. Countless hours of work and sweat. A battle with deer. A late frost. A mild Spring as far as temperature but serious drought. Until the original festival date, and a major storm predicted. A rescheduled festival to graduation weekend. Lost several vendors, gained a couple new ones. And STILL you all showed up for this farm today! We planned and prepared to maximize ripe berries, and yet before we even opened the line to get in was back to the road. By 1:15, there were almost 100 folks picking berries! The weather was beautiful, and a nice breeze blew all day.

There was ice cream, BBQ, inflatables, lemonade, crafts, jewelry, and GREAT live music from some of our favorite local artists. Thank you for visiting our farm today! We hosted over 1,000 people—we NEVER expected this kind of demand! But we hear you, and we’ll be bigger & better next time! But for now, as long as the weather supports the growth of these berries, we’ll bring what we pick to our store fronts, and we’ll be glad to see you for u-pick days on Fridays and Sundays. Hours & specifics will be shared soon!
