When heat, weeds, and bugs are feeling a bit overwhelming, it's time to think about some of the better parts of gardening! What makes your garden worthwhile? For me, one of those things is fresh basil. A few years ago we had some Italian basil in the garden that naturally crossed with purple basil. We've selectively kept seed from the most variegated sections each season and really liking this year's result💚😀💚

So here's a houseplant story with a happy ending! This snake plant got 'lost' in the off-season a couple years ago. When found, it hadn't been watered for a VERY long time. It was all shriveled up and we cut it back to one small leaf, about an inch tall. We also moved it to where it would get watered on a more regular basis 😄 And here we are now...getting ready to bloom!
