This year, GEC has the privilege to work with some great organizations on National Propane Day!

GEC is proud to be taking part in NPGA Young Professionals Council annual day of service, taking place on October 7th. The day will consist of partnering with Operation BBQ Relief in Dallas, TX to help prepare, serve, and deliver meals to first responders.

Be sure to check in on National Propane Day for behind the scenes photos of the GEC team!

The Young Professionals Council (YPC) will be conducting their third annual Day of Service this year on October 7th, National Propane Day. The YPC will be partnering once again with Operation BBQ Relief to prepare, serve, and deliver meals to first responders across the country. This year, the YPC will be expanding to five locations: St. Paul, MN, Kansas City, MO, Tampa, FL, Raleigh, NC, and Dallas, TX. Through the generosity of numerous propane industry sponsors, the YPC has raised $20,000 for this Day of Service, 100% of which will be donated to Operation BBQ.

That's a wrap on the Iowa Propane Emergency Response Training!

The final stop was Grinnell, Iowa, where hazmat teams from Poweshiek County, Mahaska County, and Grinnell Fire took part.

A huge thank you to Ron Huffman of Responder Training, Charlie Criswell and Criswell Propane, IPERC, and the Iowa Propane Gas Association for helping make this project possible.

And a special thank you to GEC's Todd Meyer, who put in a tremendous amount of work to coordinate and bring this project together.

After four days and multiple locations across Iowa, it's great to see this phase completed and more hazmat teams equipped with the knowledge, training, and equipment needed to respond to propane emergencies. πŸš’

The Iowa Propane Emergency Response Training road show continued yesterday, on Day 3, with hazmat and fire units from across the area, including Linn County, Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, Waterloo, Marion, and Hiawatha.

The afternoon's exercise added an extra flare, literally! πŸ”₯ Linn County Coop Oil provided a transport, bobtail, and propane that allowed the teams to successfully complete a triple flare from a single opening.

A huge thank you to Kevin Willaby and Linn County Coop Oil, Marion Fire Department, Hiawatha Fire, Ronn Huffman and Responders Training, IPGA, and IPERC for making the training possible.

And we can't forget Willie's BBQ for keeping everyone fueled with some seriously good food! πŸ–

Three stops down, one to go. Grinnell is up next! πŸš’

A big thank you to the Fort Dodge Fire Department, Alex and Wessell Oil, Kyle Porter, and Ron Huffman of Responder Training for helping make the day happen!

And a special shoutout to the two individuals who put on full turnout gear in 97 degree heat for the liquid withdrawal valve portion of the training. That's dedication!
