I had a feeling that I had to go emerald bay for some reason this week for sunrise. It was a must. So I charged everything, set up my camera for the len I wanted etc and pre packed my car the night before. I was planning on going to a spot I found a while back that has been buried in snow the last several times I have gone to emerald bay. When I got up to the area that morning again something told me go to eagle falls. So I did. I have only been to Eagle falls one time before and didn't get to much of a chance to scope it out for future compositions. I made my way down to the falls and started setting up my gear for this shot. About five minutes later another photographer showed up and set up to me my left and we got to witness an amazing sunrise. It might not of took up the whole sky but the power from the falls, the energy of the trees and wind.. it was amazing.

Mother Gaia has FINALLY given me a little color at emerald bay this am. Just as the fog started to roll in and take over the bay the sky opened up and brought in this peak-a-boo of pink. So beautiful to witness this morning. When we showed up it was raining, the trails were more difficult due to the snow and it was super windy. Believe me when I say that there was only a couple of seconds this morning where everything calmed down and came together but it was so worth it! I give you "Grateful"

I have lived in the Carson/Tahoe area my entire life and had never hiked up to cave rock before. You can tell once you get there that it a pretty popular spot to watch sunsets as many locals started making their way up the trail as the sun began to set. I took a different approach rather then climb cave rock I climbed the mini mountain behind it and used this beautiful tree as my sunset filter. I give you "Sun Flower"

I shot this in Hope Valley a couple of months ago. I went up early with a friend in hopes of catching a killer sunrise. While we were waiting for the sun to come up we started shooting various other things. This was not the shot that I had planned out in my head for the day but was a blessing to come across.

I have been going to Emerald bay quite a bit lately and this morning in particular there was no clouds, no color for the sunrise.. nothing. I text my friend with a string of frustrations after a couple hours of hiking and I get told "Work with what you got" Fine. I go down the trail to Vikingsholm and this beautiful blue bird sky is staring at me with a glass cove. I go to the end of the dock and nothing... so I go under the dock and sit. Shortly after these ducks came over to investigate. After a couple bites at my tripod and realizing it wasn't edible they allowed me to get this shot. I give you "Duck Luck"

Good morning! Here's a shot I did last weekend in Tahoe. We got up to the lake hoping for an incredible sunset to match all the stunning sunrises last week showcased but it just wasn't in the cards. However the skies were clear so we decided to stay and get some astrophotography. This was the first spot I planted my feet on the beach and my favorite photo of the night.
