IGA closing was the sign we needed to call it quits and run while we had the chance.
Thanks for the offers for us to move to a new location in town but after the way things have gone we had been looking for a sign and had geared up for a fight but this was the sign we needed.
It's sad a local business that provided in town students with good paying summer jobs is gone after over 10+ years.
But thank you to those that reached out and to the very many phone calls daily asking when we would reopen.
Come over to Herrin Tropical Sno this spring!
A big shout out to Jordan’s Towing LLC the amount of work and planning required to move our city defined "portable" building was not so easy but they helped us get it done.
We are just glad this nightmare is over for us.

Yes it is seasonal, we have to save some snow for Santa Clause, but our bills do not end with the season. Even after September and until April they are still expected to be paid. Carterville Tropical Sno is no more. Alyssa and I met with the mayor tonight and it was decided that we would need a peddlers permit because well every excuse that could be dug up to make the building out to be mobile. So the owner said she was done and who would blame her. After shutting her down last night then they didn't even call her all day today she finally went up at 3 to see what the deal was. This to me is heart breaking 💔😢. The few times I've helped there everyone has been wonderful. But we have already worked it out and she will be taking the building and all relocating ,maybe to no where after this.
Alyssa was not not going to lay down and take it or be shaken down and that was on her own decision and I'm am proud of that. There is always someplace that wants you.

So... we had to close early. The city shut us down at our hut 🛖. The pd came on city hall orders and told the 2 highschool girls working their summer job they & I need peddlers permits and to close or they would be ticketed.
This hut has been there for many many years and thru 3 owners. No one from the city has made any attempts to contact us since I purchased this and opened in April 2020 (my name and number is on Google maps,Facebook,and in the window).
This is a licensed business, pays IL sales tax, has bi-county health permit, and building and business insurance.
For now come to Herrin Tropical Sno
