Some things are just hard to part with…

The red table. The old baskets. The crocks.

The flowers. You know how you find something and think, “Well, I can't possibly leave THAT behind"?

That's pretty much every corner of Greathouse of Country. So here's today's question...

If you could take ONE thing from this photo home, what would it be? We're curious what catches your eye!

WELL... THIS FEELS A LITTLE STRANGE.

We're used to filling this space with things we love. Now we're watching it slowly empty.

Every table, cabinet, basket and little treasure has a story. And somehow, we've got to decide what comes along for the next chapter.

Moving Greathouse of Country isn't quite as simple as packing a few boxes.

Happy Friday! Keep following along as we share the move, little sneak peeks, and our official reopening announcement.

Who’s planning to come see us when those doors open?

Different doors. Same heart.

We’re looking forward to opening our doors the first week of November!

Between now and then, there are crocks to wrap, baskets to pack, treasures to move, and a whole lot of love going into making this new space feel like Greathouse of Country.

Someone recently commented on our new building, “Looks like the first building that I met you in.”

And Kim’s reply said everything.

“It is where we met! I’m coming home!”

There’s something special about that, isn’t there?

A building that holds memories. Familiar walls. Old friendships. And a whole new chapter waiting to unfold. We’re packing up the treasures, bringing along the memories, and finding our way home.

And we can’t wait to welcome you there.

Have you been with Greathouse of Country long enough to remember those early days? We’d love to hear your stories

It feels strange not opening these doors these past few weeks.

Normally, we’d be turning on the lights, welcoming familiar faces, and getting ready for another week at Greathouse of Country.

But this week looks a little different. The doors may be closed for now, but behind the scenes, we’re getting ready for something special. A new home, a fresh beginning, and another chapter in the Greathouse story.

As we prepare for a new home for Greathouse of Country, there are pieces that simply have to come along.

Not because they’re the newest, the fanciest, or even the most valuable. But because they’re part of what makes Greathouse feel like Greathouse.

This old treasure is one of them.

A new location. A new chapter. But the same love for things with history, character, and a story to tell.

Some pieces find a place in your home. Others find a place in your heart.

What's your favorite thing you've ever brought home from Greathouse of Country?
Tell us in the comments! Better yet, show us a picture. We'd love to see where those Greathouse treasures ended up!

If this old box could talk, it might have quite a story. This worn blue crate carries the name Heinrich Klingenberg — Hamburg + Bonn.

A little digging led us to a German furniture moving company founded in Hamburg in 1877, back when the business began with a single horse-drawn wagon. A Bonn branch followed in 1949, which makes those painted city names on this old crate even more interesting.

Was it used to move furniture between homes? Did it travel across Germany? What spent years packed inside? We may never know this particular crate’s whole story and that’s exactly why we love old pieces.

Sometimes the marks aren’t decoration. They’re the history.
