So actually I’m excited to finally open (God willing) a retail store in 2024. After many setbacks (Covid era, job losses, & the list goes on) I’m finally retiring and setting up a shop that I have always wanted to do. I’m selling the cast iron (my remaining collection of 500 or so pieces) some pretty cool different collectibles, PLUS selling live bait (minnows, worms etc.) for our local fisher people that visit our area. I’m hoping for March 1st for opening of trout season but I’ll do my best. Stay tuned for any updates. Thanks for staying with me.

So I haven’t really done anything with the Cast Iron Mercantile store since last year when I posted. I’d like to thank all the new people for liking my page with it being pretty static the last year. I’m working the farm and expanded the numbers of u-pick patches for the pumpkins this fall, besides working a part time job to have some income coming in. I was thinking of posting some pieces for sell on here, I have some iron I’ve cleaned, but most needs to to restored. With my tanks I can make that happen but it will take a few days and to be honest, it has to be worth the time and effort. I still have 500+ pieces so let me know. Once again thanks for liking my page.

I decided a while back I needed to turn my junked up detached garage into a small retail shop. This is becoming the Cast Iron Mercantile store front. At least I won’t have booth rent and commission. LOL. It’s definitely a work in progress but it has come along nicely in a little over a weeks time. I’m trying to use as much salvaged material from my Farmstead to keep costs down too, which adds a lot of time. My goal is to have it open by the last weekend in September when we open our Pumpkin Patch at M&M Farmstead.

I will start the cast iron photos in new posts to keep it a little more organized.

This is the waffle iron post:

I have found the Puritan, the Griswold and a set of early Simmons Hardware (Keen Kutter) paddles. I know I have an early 8x9 paddles and base, a #9 Griswold low base, an early beaver tail handle base and a couple sets of the early flip paddles (the ones with no handles) but I haven’t came across these pieces yet in the stacks. I will post as they are found.

1) Griswold #8 American high base $75 plus shipping
