More of what goes into every single custom painted factory brand lure we sell. After stripping the original coating, each clear lure is painted white to reveal even the tiniest amount of remaining material which is then removed by hand. This process is repeated until each lure surface is perfect. Then it’s time to paint. 😎

No pain, no gain. Every realistic hand airbrushed lure we produce starts by having its hooks, split rings and eyes removed, and its factory coatings stripped off in a way that doesn’t damage the integrity of the plastic or the detail stamped into the lure. All this was done to the batch of Fishus Espetite 95’s and Jackall Riser 007’s shown here before the final lure prep or paint process even begins. 🐟

Hit Castaic with my uncle visiting from Texas. He’s a tournament angler there and it was fun to see him connect on our much lighter west coast finesse gear. We boated about 30, including a nice trout and one just over 4lbs that cooperated and went along with my program. Besides a couple early on purple, all we used today was the Bait Merchant designed John Petroski Prototype 1 power-finesse bait in cinnamon.
