Pavilion Partner Spotlight! 🐝🌼

We’re excited to welcome Bhumi & Bloom to Family Fest with their Interactive Pollinator Booth!

Bhumi & Bloom is a farm in Castalia focused on supporting pollinator, land, and human health through community engagement and sustainable farming practices.

Stop by their table for some hands-on pollinator fun:

🐝 Explore real beekeeping equipment
🥼 Try on a kid-sized beekeeper suit
🌱 Learn about native pollinator-friendly plants
🧩 Complete an interactive pollinator puzzle
🌼 Make your own plantable pollinator seed ball to take home and watch grow
💐 See a floral design display featuring flowers grown from seed right on their farm

This is such a fun opportunity for kids and families to learn about bees, flowers, pollinators, and the important role they play in the world around us.

We’re so excited to have Bhumi & Bloom bringing a little piece of their farm to Family Fest!

The Great Southeast Pollinator Census weekend is almost here! 🐝🦋
Starting Friday, August 21, you can print a tally sheet from the census website and spend just 15 minutes counting the pollinators that land on a plant near you.

Join us at the Nash County Arboretum on Saturday, August 22, from 9:00–11:00 a.m. Extension Master Gardeners will provide everything you need—including tally sheets, tips for identifying bees, and plants where you can conduct your count.

Bring the kids! We’ll have activities for them while you participate, and they can even work alongside you as your counting partner. This is a fun citizen-science activity for all ages!

🌧️ Rain update: Because of the forecast, the state coordinator has extended the census through Monday, August 24. There will be no rain date for the Arboretum event, so if rain cancels Saturday morning’s event, you can still participate on your own using the tally sheet and instructions from the census website.

Join enthusiastic citizen scientists across six states as we collect valuable information about the types and numbers of pollinators in our region. Every 15-minute count helps!
