From a young age, Staci found herself enchanted by the idea that an object could outlast its owner and pass to a new one.

That enchantment became Kimbal Road.

She grew up spending summers on her grandmother's dairy farm in Kansas. A woman who never threw anything away because everything had value, and everything came with a story.

A wedding dress that wasn't white because they couldn't afford something worn only once. A brass dish gifted on a 50th anniversary. A butcher block from a great grandmother's general store, worn smooth from years of use.

Staci doesn't always know what makes her pick something up and think it needs to come home with someone. It's a feeling. More often than not, she thinks the piece picks her.

Maybe you'll leave with something. Maybe you'll remember that copper candlestick of your grandmother's buried in a box in the basement. You'll pull it out, dust it off, place it somewhere it can be seen, and continue a story that's already been started.

Castle Rock voted. And we are a little overwhelmed.

The Emporium was named Best Clothing/Boutique and Best Gift Shop in the 2026 Castle Rock Best of the Best awards by Colorado Community Media.

Even better, two of our merchants were recognized too:

Oo•de•Lally Coffee - Best Coffee.
Tiff's Kitchen - Best Charcuterie.

We are incredibly proud and even more grateful for the community that continues to show up.

Thank you, Castle Rock 💖

On cloudy days, when there is no sun, sunflowers turn toward one another to share their light.

Crochet Encanto began with a sunflower.

During a difficult season in Winnie's life, someone special gave her a real sunflower. It was a simple gesture, but it made her feel loved and supported.

Then her coworkers showed up for her, too.

So Winnie crocheted a sunflower for each of them. Twelve in total. Flowers that would never die, each one a reminder of what it feels like to be remembered and cared for.

That is where Crochet Encanto began.

What surprises Winnie most, even now, is how much emotion a handmade flower can carry. People come in to choose one for someone they love, and they bring a story with them.

A thank you. An I love you. A quiet way of saying, "You are not alone."

The sunflower is still her favorite.

Coy bakes bread to slow down.

By day he works in an environment that demands a lot. Baking from scratch became the counterweight. The slow fermentation of a naturally leavened loaf forces a rhythm of patience and presence.

That intentionality carries into every ingredient. CastleDough sources stone milled heritage grains from Dry Storage Mill, keeping their kitchen directly connected to Colorado farmers.

The sourdough is what most people come for. But Coy recommends not sleeping on the cookies. Try the chocolate chip. The epitome of all things cookie, and the perfect introduction to the care that goes into everything at CastleDough.

Your Saturday shopping can do more than support local businesses.
It can support local nonprofits, too.

Every Saturday in August, 100% of The Emporium's commission will be donated to a different nonprofit serving Douglas County.

Five Saturdays.
Five organizations making a real difference right here in our community.

Since 2021, August Giveback Month at The E has generated more than $20,000 for local nonprofits, and every purchase helps write the next chapter.

The schedule is below - pick a Saturday, shop your favorite merchants, and help support a cause close to your heart ❤️

Piper never planned to open a bookstore.

She was on one of her weekly thrift runs when she kept finding books she already owned, in perfect condition, for just a few dollars. She couldn't justify buying them again, but she also couldn't stand leaving them behind.

So she started hosting pop-up book shops at local coffee shops. Nine months later, Piper's Pre-Loved Books found a home at The Emporium.

Today, her shelves are filled with everything from bestselling favorites to hidden gems, all chosen by someone who loves discovering a great book as much as reading one.

One of her favorite things in the shop? The Blind Date with a Book collection. Every now and then, she'll wrap one of her own favorite reads, especially the ones that deserve a little more attention, hoping it becomes someone else's favorite too.

Our parade tickets sold out on the first day.

Every year we save some of the best seats in Downtown Castle Rock for the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Parade, and every year they go fast.

This year they were gone before we even had the chance to post them publicly.

If you'd like first access to moments like this, ask us about E Extra the next time you're in.

It's our way of saying thank you to the people who shop local and keep this community thriving.

One of our favorite summer traditions is coming back.

Farm Day returns to The Emporium on Friday, July 24 from 10am to 1pm.

The 4H kids are bringing their animals to the porch
Douglas County Fair & Rodeo Royalty will be on hand
The Glacier Ice Cream Truck will be here (because summer should *always* include ice cream)

Little Legends Market @ The E makes its debut alongside all of it, with young entrepreneurs ages 4 to 15 launching their own small businesses for the day.

Expect handmade art, crocheted blankets, fabric bookmarks, greeting cards, reclaimed wood creations, rope bowls, LEGO creations, fresh squeezed lemonade made with honey and thyme and foraged wildflowers, and plenty of ideas we never would have thought of ourselves.

Castle Rock, these kids are ready for you.

Come encourage them, shop their booths, and help celebrate the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Free to attend. See you on the porch.
