Y'ALL. WHAT A DAY.

Yesterday was absolutely WILD, and we are still recovering (in the best way possible).

First off, THANK YOU to everyone who came out to celebrate our first anniversary! We were SLAMMED, and seeing so many familiar faces, new friends, and folks just hanging out and enjoying the space meant the world to us.

Huge shoutout to Louis and Friends for keeping everyone fed with some incredible homemade backyard pizza, everyone who joined us for board games, and of course, the BABY GOATS. Because apparently, that's just who we are now. A bookstore with baby goats.

But guess what? WE'RE NOT DONE YET.

SATURDAY'S FESTIVITIES:

- 2 PM | Bach to Rock Youth Music Showcase
- 6:30 PM | Critical Match Meetup: Beyond the Bookshelves

THE ANNIVERSARY DEALS CONTINUE!

- 10% OFF all purchases in store and online
- 15% OFF preorders in-store and online
- Raffle prizes!

One year down, and we're only getting started. This little bookstore and game shop has become something so much bigger than we ever imagined, and that's because of all of you.

So come hang out, bring a friend, discover something new, and help us keep this celebration going!

ONE DAY TO GO!

We couldn't celebrate our first anniversary without showing some love to the incredible businesses, organizations, and community partners who've been part of our first year.

When we started The Secret Lantern, we knew we wanted to build something that went beyond books and games. We wanted to be part of a community that shows up for one another, celebrates creativity, and makes room for everyone.

And y'all have shown us what that looks like.

From collaborations and community events to sharing resources, supporting causes, and helping each other grow, these are just some of the wonderful folks we've had the pleasure of connecting with along the way.

Please give them some love! Follow them, support their work, and discover what they're bringing to our community.

We're only one year in, and there's so much more we want to do together.

Tomorrow, we celebrate!

NEW RELEASES! (Yes, we know it's Thursday.)

Whew. Listen. There were SO MANY new arrivals this week that we needed an extra day just to figure out how to show y'all everything.

We've got vampires, dragons, romance, horror, comics, cozy reads, children's books, tabletop adventures, and enough board games to ruin everyone's plans to be productive this weekend as we head into our Birthday Celebration.

We've also got Dungeon Crawler Carl comics, Threshing Day restocks, Romance, mystery AND horror Advent books and more.

And somehow, this isn't even everything.

Swipe through, zoom in, and tell us what caught your eye. Better yet, come wander the shelves and see what else we've been hiding.

Your TBR pile is between you and your bookshelf. We're just here to enable you.

2 DAYS TO GO! Celebrating the people behind our shelves!

As we get ready to celebrate our first anniversary, we want to recognize some of the incredible creators, small businesses, game designers, publishers, and companies that have helped us build The Secret Lantern.

From local artists and makers whose work you'll find throughout our store to independent game studios and major publishers bringing entire worlds to our tables, we're proud of the businesses and creators we get to support and share with our community.

One of our goals when we opened was to create a space where independent creators could stand alongside established names, and where customers could discover something (or someone!) new every time they visited.

To everyone whose books, games, art, accessories, snacks, and creations have found a home on our shelves: THANK YOU!

And to our community, please continue supporting these wonderful creators and businesses. Every purchase helps keep this ecosystem going.

Here's to another year of discovering new favorites, supporting small businesses, and bringing more adventures to Cedar Park.

Know a creator or small business we should carry? Tag them below!

3 days to go before our 1st birthday celebration!

It still boggles our minds that we opened only one year ago. We wanted to commemorate some of the highlights from this first year to see how far we've come and remember the amazing times we've had with everyone.

We'd love for you to share some of your own favorite memories from The Secret Lantern - drop a comment and let us know what you're excited to see come back in our second year!

Something is happening outside The Secret Lantern… 👀

Our ONE YEAR anniversary is almost here, and we thought the store deserved a little birthday present of its own.

Our windows are getting a hand-painted Secret Lantern makeover courtesy of the incredible

A year ago, we opened our doors hoping to create a place where readers, gamers, creatives, and wonderfully weird people could find each other. So it feels pretty special to celebrate Year One by putting a little more of us on the building itself.

Come watch it take shape, and stay tuned for the finished reveal! 👀
